Pre-K Parent REDO - Mar. Week 5

Parent Overview

This Month's Basic Truth:

Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

Memory Verse:

“Go and make disciples of all nations.”
Matthew 28:19, NIV

Key Question:

Who wants to be your friend forever?

Bottom Line:

Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

Week 5:

Bible Story:

MATTHEW 26:20-30; 27:45-50; 28:1-7
Jesus had to go away to make a way for
us to be His friend forever, but He came
back, just like He said He would.

Interaction

  Play Time:

Gather a few toy cars and pretend
to go places. Use couch pillows and
other toys to mark your house, other
family members’ houses, and places
your child is familiar with (grocery
store, park, church, etc.). As you
play, make sure you always go back
to your “house” and say, “We’re
back!” Mention to your child that in
the Bible, Jesus went away but He
came back, just like He promised.

show His love for them.

Interaction

  Cuddle Time:

Cuddle up with your child and pray.
“Dear God, thank You for giving us
Jesus to show us how to love our
friends. Help us to love like Jesus
and be willing to do anything to
show our friends we love them,
even if it’s something we don’t like
doing—things like helping them
clean up or giving them our last
cookie. Those kinds of things are
not fun, but they sure do make
people feel really loved. Thank You
for loving us, God. We love You. In
Jesus’ name, amen.”

Pre-K Parent REDO - Mar. Week 1

Parent Overview

This Month's Basic Truth:

Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

Memory Verse:

“Love one another.” John 13:34, NIV

Key Question:

How can I love?

Bottom Line:

I can love like Jesus.

Week 1:

Bible Story:

LUKE 12:16-21
Jesus tells a story about a man who
builds bigger barns to hold all of his
extra food rather than sharing it with
people who need it.

Interaction

  Play Time:

Do you have a barn or know
someone who does? Ask if you can
visit and play around a little while.
As you and your child play in the
barn, talk about how Jesus told a
story about a man who built bigger
barns to hold all of his extra food,
instead of sharing the food with
people who needed it. Ask your
child what he thinks God wants us
to do when we have a lot. Does He
want us to share or build bigger
barns? Sharing when we have a lot is
one way to love like Jesus.
