Interaction

  Bath Time:

Pretend the bathtub is the inside
of a big fish. Play with your child as
you lift her up and put her down
in the tub. Tell her she’s being
swallowed up by a big fish! Oh, no!
What did Jonah do when he was
inside a big fish? He prayed and
told God His way is perfect! When
bath time is over, lift her up and
pretend the fish is spitting her out.

Interaction

  Car Time:

As you drive, play the “Which Way?”
game. Each time you come to a road
sign or traffic light ask your child to
point to which way he thinks is the
right way. Respond to his choice in
a fun way with, “Yes, that is the right
way!” or with, “Oh, no! That’s the
wrong way. This is the right way!”
When you get where you are going,
hug your child and say, “God’s way is
always the right way because God’s
way is perfect!”

Interaction

  Play Time:

Put on your swimsuit and go outside
for some water fun. Spray a water
hose in the air and make it “rain”
on your child. Encourage your child
to run around in the “rain” while
you say, “God made it rain, just like
He said.” When you stop spraying
the water say, “God made it stop
raining, just like He said.” Hug
each other and say, “We can always
believe what God says!”

such an awesome happy helper!

  Play Time:

special things on the ground. You
may find a flower, a special stick, or
even a cool rock. Fill your basket
with all the things you find and then
let your child tell you about them.
Talk about how Ruth helped Naomi
by going out into the fields to look
for food every day. When she found
some she would put it in her basket
and take it home.

  Bath Time:

Play a whisper game during bath
time. Everything you say has to be
in a whisper. Pretend you’re being
very quiet like Peter was when he
followed the angel out of jail. “Shh
… you don’t want to wake up the
jailer!” But once bath time is over,
make all of the noise you want!
“You’re free! Just like Peter!”

As you drive, say this month’s

replace the word “nations” with
the people you see. For example,
if you see a truck driver say, “‘Go
and make disciples of all [truck
drivers],’ Matthew 28:19.” If you
see a grocery clerk say, “‘Go and
make disciples of all [grocery clerks],
Matthew 28:19.” It’s a fun way to
teach your child that Jesus wants
us to “Go and make disciples of all
nations.”

Jesus had to go away to make a way for
us to be His friend forever, but He came
back, just like He said He would.

Interaction

  Play Time:

Gather a few toy cars and pretend
to go places. Use couch pillows and
other toys to mark your house, other
family members’ houses, and places
your child is familiar with (grocery
store, park, church, etc.). As you
play, make sure you always go back
to your “house” and say, “We’re
back!” Mention to your child that in
the Bible, Jesus went away but He
came back, just like He promised.

help, and the Good Samaritan who
stopped to help him. Act out the
story, along the side of the tub, as
your child takes his bath. Talk about
how the Good Samaritan loved his
neighbor like Jesus because he
stopped to help.

As you and your child play in the
barn, talk about how Jesus told a
story about a man who built bigger
barns to hold all of his extra food,
instead of sharing the food with
people who needed it. Ask your
child what he thinks God wants us
to do when we have a lot. Does He
want us to share or build bigger
barns? Sharing when we have a lot is
one way to love like Jesus.

Squirrel? Jesus loves me! Remind

MARK 7:32-37
Jesus heals a deaf man’s ears so he
can hear.

Interaction

  Bath Time:

Grab two spoons and take them to
bath time. While your child is in the
tub, ask him to put one of his ears
under the water while you tap the
spoons under the water. Ask him
to hold up his hand when he hears
the tapping. You can also play a
counting game where you tap the
spoons one, two, three, four or five
times and your child must count the
taps and then hold up that number
of fingers. Keep the taps to five or
less. Talk about how Jesus healed
a deaf man’s ears so he could hear.
Jesus has the power to help us with
anything!

Balloon? Want. Remind your child
that Jesus is all we need. He has the
power to help us with anything.

Jesus shows He has the power to help
people when He heals a blind man so he
can see.

Interaction

  Play Time:

Play a game of “I Spy” with your
child. Take turns saying, “I spy with
my little eyes something [name
a color].” The other person must
guess what the person has spied
with their eyes. When you’re done,
briefly mention that Jesus helped
a blind man see in the Bible. Jesus
has the power to help us like no one
else!
